and goals of the institution and to the diplomas, certificates, or degrees awarded.

Narrative
The purpose and goals of the University are identified in an approved and appropriate mission statement,
as described in Comprehensive Standard 3.1.1
[1]. The mission, goals, and Strategic Plan of Nicholls
[2]
are
approved by the Louisiana Board of Regents
[3]. Subsequently, educational programs reflective of the
University's mission and goals must also be approved by the Board of Regents
[4].
Approved programs are
listed on page eight of the Board of Regents' Inventory of Degree and Certification Programs
[5]. Nicholls
State University offers programs/courses leading to degrees at the associate, baccalaureate,
master, and specialist levels
[6]. As described in Core Requirement 2.7.2
[7] and Comprehensive Standard
3.4.1
[8], assessment and evaluation of all aspects of degree programsadmission, faculty, courses, and
curriculaundergo scheduled periodic program reviews to ascertain that all programs meet the standards for
admission and completion requirements stipulated by the Board of Regents.
