The President of the System serves as the non-voting chair of the search committee. In addition, Policies and Procedures Memorandum FS III.II.A-1[2] further outlines specifics in regard to CEO searches including appointments of non-voting advisory members to assist with searches, advertisements of searches in national publications, and uses of search firms or consultants.

Part Two, Chapter III, Section IV.D [3] of Board Rules, specifies that the Board will evaluate all institution presidents each year. The purpose of evaluation is to improve the performance of institution presidents as well as to improve the overall management of the System's institutions.
