University of Louisiana System
The University of Louisiana system is composed of the institutions under the supervision and management of the
Board of Trustees for State Colleges and Universities as follows:
(1) Grambling State University at Grambling.
(2) Louisiana Tech University at Ruston.
(3) McNeese State University at Lake Charles.
(4) Nicholls State University at Thibodaux.
(5) Northeast Louisiana University at Monroe.
(6) Northwestern State University of Louisiana at Natchitoches.
(7) Southeastern Louisiana University at Hammond.
(8) University of Southwestern Louisiana at Lafayette.
(9) Any other college, university, school, institution or program now or hereafter under the supervision and
management of the Board of Trustees for State Colleges and Universities.

or the current names of two of the System institutions (5) University of Louisiana at Monroe

Nicholls State University is part of the University of Louisiana System. The
general powers and duties of the Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System
as a management board under the authority of the Louisiana Board of Regents are provided for in Louisiana
Revised Statute 17:3351. These general powers allow the Board of Supervisors
for the University of Louisiana System to formulate curricula and programs for
study, as well as award certificates, confer degrees, and issue diplomas
certifying the same (see Section A. (11) and (15) of LRS 17:3351) [5].
